What’s that rumble you’re hearing? It’s the rolling thunder of the impending return of The Mile motorcycle racing to Sacramento! Yes, it really is true – after over a decade away, the AMA Pro Racing Grand National Championship series is on its way back to our capital.

It gets even better – for the first time ever, The Sacramento Mile is a key attraction at the annual California State Fair. Your 2012 ticket also includes entry to the annual Fair, long known for the depth and variety of its agricultural and related displays.
The Sacramento Mile at the Cal Expo Center has been the site of exciting AMA competition since 1959. Past Sacramento Mile events have routinely provided close and exciting flat track action, which is a hallmark of the AMA Pro Racing Grand National Championship series. Typically, rather than being a 1-rider runaway, a back-&-forth battle involving from 2 to 6 riders will rage, lap after lap – throughout the 25 miles, racers are strategizing at 130mph on the straights and trying different lines into, through, and out of the sweeping corners.
The Sacramento Mile will close out the California State Fair’s final Saturday night. Winners Circle celebration will be accompanied by traditional fireworks that are launching from The Mile’s interior lake!
